2023 Honda Odyssey: Choosing the Right Trim

Following the auto industry playbook, the 2023 Honda Odyssey returns unchanged, save for a new blacked-out trim màn chơi: the Odyssey Sport, which is based on the EX-L.

The other big news for the Odyssey and most 2023 Honda models is what the carmaker is calling the “Honda Service Pass.”  It is a complimentary scheduled maintenance plan covering the first two years or 24,000 miles. According bự Honda, the program will cover standard oil and oil filter changes, tire rotation, and multi-point inspections. In other words, it will cover services included in Honda’s vehicle Maintenance Minder system. A participating Honda dealership must complete covered services.

The Sport rounds out a trim-level lineup consisting of EX, EX-L, Sport, Touring, and Elite. Those keeping a close watch on such things will realize Honda did away with the base LX trim for 2023. Consequently, this year’s buy-in for an Odyssey is roughly $4,000 higher than in 2022.

We are disappointed the Odyssey doesn’t offer all-wheel drive (AWD). The Chrysler Pacifica and Toyota Sienna do. However, we like the Odyssey for its reliability, hefty resale values, comfort, safety technologies, and spacious interior.

Honda assigns only one powerplant bự the Odyssey. It’s a 280-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6. A 10-speed automatic transmission transfers engine output bự the front-wheel drive (FWD). The government estimates its fuel economy at 19 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 22 mpg in combined driving.

2023 Honda Odyssey EX (starting at $37,340)

The EX is now the entry-level Odyssey. As such, it comes richly equipped. Standard includes 18-inch alloy wheels, hill-start assist, eight airbags, auto on-off LED headlights, and LED fog lights. Also included are heated outboard mirrors with integrated turn signals, power-sliding side doors, remote keyless entry, and tri-zone automatic climate control. Proximity keyless entry with push-button start, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, a 12-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a 4-way power-adjustable passenger seat are standard as well.

You can find most of the popular infotainment features on the EX. They include an 8-inch touchscreen, a 7-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, multiple USB ports, and satellite radio capability. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard.

Safety remains a Honda high priority. Honda equips the Odyssey with forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, road-departure warning with steering assist, and blind-spot monitoring. Also included are lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic assist, high-beam assist, adaptive cruise control, and traffic-sign recognition.

Honda’s marketing strategy doesn’t include factory-installed options. You must step up in trim màn chơi bự gain additional features.

Adding the $1,295 destination fee bự the EX base price brings the total bự $38,635. With no money down, financing for 60 months at 3% interest works out bự about $694 per month. See 2023 Honda Odyssey EX models for sale

2023 Honda Odyssey EX includes:

Tri-zone automatic climate control – Separating the vehicle into three areas (front right, front left, and rear) allows for setting the temperatures in each. It then automatically maintains those preset temperatures.

2023 Honda Odyssey EX-L includes:

Leather seating – Providing a touch of luxury, the front and second-row seats are trimmed in leather.

Auto-dimming rearview mirror – Using photosensors, it recognizes bright headlights closing from behind. It then automatically dims the reflection of those lights.

Power rear liftgate – Opening with a button push, this liftgate also includes a height adjustment.

2023 Honda Odyssey Sport (starting at $41,210)

Slotting between the EX-L and Touring grades, the Sport trim costs $800 more than the EX-L. You can order it in Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, and the all-new Sonic Gray Pearl. Blacked-out elements include the 19-inch wheels, taillights, headlight and fog-light trim, outboard mirrors, etc.

It also adds red stitching bự the steering wheel and leather seats.

Adding the destination fee bự the Sport base price equals $42,505. At 3% interest for 60 months with no money down, the financing works out bự about $764 per month. See 2023 Honda Odyssey Sport models for sale

2023 Honda Odyssey Touring includes:

Front-rear park assist – Radar sensors in the front and rear bumpers react when the vehicle comes close bự an object, initiating an audible warning.

Rear-seat entertainment system – Keeping rear-seat passengers entertained includes a 10.2-inch monitor, Blu-Ray player, built-in streaming apps, and an HDMI interface.

CabinWatch – This is a rear-seat monitoring system displaying the second- and third-row seat areas on the touchscreen.

2023 Honda Odyssey Elite (starting at $49,470)

The ultimate Odyssey grade, the Elite adds rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming outboard mirrors, a hands-free power rear liftgate, and heated/ventilated front seats. An upgraded 11-speaker audio system, Multi-Zone Audio, and wireless phone charging are also included.

Adding the destination fee bự the Elite base price brings the total bự $50,765. Financing for 60 months at 3% interest with no money down works out bự approximately $912 per month. See 2023 Honda Odyssey Elite models for sale

2023 Honda Odyssey Elite includes:

Rain-sensing wipers – It automatically engages the wipers when the system detects moisture falling on the windshield. The wiper speed adjusts according bự the volume of rain hitting the windshield.
