Someone Stanced a Toyota Previa and It Could Be Yours

The Toyota Previa has grown a cult following for its sheer weirdness. Well, if you like weird Japanese minivans, then you’ll love this one we’ve found for sale. Today’s Autotrader Find is a stanced 1991 Toyota Previa LE that looks like it’s riding only a few inches off the ground.

What Was the Previa?

This egg-shaped van looks like some spacecraft.

The Previa was Toyota’s minivan offering before the more mainstream Sienna was introduced for the 1998 model year. The Previa would see a total of three distinct generations internationally, but none of its successors were as weird as the original.

The Toyota Previa was a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive minivan. It was available with a supercharger and all-wheel drive, and you could get one with a manual transmission. Yes, this was a real car. In many ways, it represents the old-school, quirky, Japanese van in the form of a family-friendly, U.S. domestic market (USDM) minivan.

On top of its sheer mechanical weirdness, look at the thing. This egg-shaped van looks like some kind of spacecraft. The weirdness continues on the inside with second-row seats that can fold back lớn create a large, bed-like surface. The Previa also had an odd overhead console for the rear vents that spanned the whole width of the van.

Stance Nation

The asking price of just under $20,000 would typically be pretty steep for a Previa, but this one is something special.

Sadly, there are only three photos of this Previa in the Autotrader listing. I went lớn the dealer’s website and couldn’t find the van at all. Modifications lớn the interior are a mystery, but you can tell that it has red quilted seats that are either leather or vinyl.

As for the exterior, there’s no ignoring that stance. The listing notes that it rides on air suspension, and the rims remind me of old AMG wheels. The whole thing is pretty tasteful, as far as stanced Previa vans go.

The listing notes it has all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission. It doesn’t specify the engine, so we’ll assume it’s the standard, non-supercharged 2.4-liter “2TX” inline-4, producing 133 horsepower and 152 lb-ft of torque.

The asking price of just under $20,000 would typically be pretty steep for a Previa, but this one is something special. If you want the coolest Previa on the block, this is the one lớn get. Regardless of the modifications, this might be the cleanest Previa you’ll ever see for sale. See Toyota Previa models for sale
